Faculty Oversight Committee

The Human Imaging Research Office provides a variety of services to clinical and basic science investigators at the University to support any and all aspects of their research that involve any form of medical imaging. In addition, the HIRO develops and enforces policies and procedures designed to both streamline and standardize the research imaging process and to ensure compliance with all applicable University and federal guidelines. These policies may have wide-ranging implications for research-related imaging. The HIRO's Faculty Oversight Committee is intended to assist and supervise the HIRO in accomplishing its mission.

Committee Mission

The Faculty Oversight Committee (FOC) for the HIRO is tasked with reviewing, approving, and supporting HIRO policies and procedures that will impact the clinical research infrastructure within the University community. The FOC also provides input and insight for current HIRO policies and services as well as suggestions for future HIRO policies and services, and it promotes inter-departmental, inter-divisional, and inter-institutional cooperation for research that involves medical imaging. Finally, the FOC helps promote the compliance activities of the HIRO and endorses its utilization by all applicable investigators.
