The HIRO can work with you to make sure your research imaging data is collected and maintained in a HIPAA and IRB compliant manner. This includes masking patient data on the scans themselves and changing or removing the patient data in the image files' DICOM headers. We work closely with the IRB, the HIPAA Office and the OCR to ensure that our operations are fully compliant with all privacy and confidentiality regulations, and if you opt to have the HIRO manage your image data, we can work with you to ensure that it is compliant as well.
